A few of my favorite things

It has become more popular and even a lifestyle to have less stuff; call that minimalism is you like. And for some people that can become almost a religion. But for others it can just be a sense that more stuff will not make you happy. Both camps will share the idea that if you do have a thing, make it a good quality thing, and make sure it adds to your life and is not just another item on the pile of stuff.
For me I am more and more liking the idea that I want fewer things, but the quality of each item be very good. The idea that less is more but each is better.
So here is a list of some of the items that I have that I very much enjoy having.
One of the best products are those that solve a problem you did not know you had. One of those for me was getting espresso coffee drinks without having to go out somewhere. Having a good espresso machine in my kitchen. Just being able to wake up and stumble into the kitchen, and 3 minutes later having an Americano. And during the pandemic, it was super great to have.
A watch is a tad old school. Most people use their phone to check the time or perhaps an iWatch. But I am a watch guy. My Omega is a part of my personal brand. It is a fashion accessory which says I know tech, use tech, but still like a time piece (more – rework)
Another item I like are pens, and this was a hard choice between my Montblanc fountain pen and my Ti Click ball point. But I went with the Ti Click because I thought a more every day practical pen would connect with others more. A good fountain pen is a good less is more but a better-quality item. The Ti click is a brass pen, not plastic or resin material. It is durable and adjustable to be able to use a host of ink cartridges. There is enough plastic in the world.
This is an item that solved a problem I knew that I had. I have traveled to the Ukraine (the Ukraine is grammar in this case and not a title, there is no word for the in Russian and the Ukraine can be seen as a political statement), and often changed from a wide body jet to a reginal jet which too often had small over head bin space, even for normal carry-ons. I ended up having to check my carry-on bag most of the time. And a few times I ended up with an over night stay somewhere after a long flight. It would have been nice to have a change of clothes. That is what the Nomatic travel bag does for me. It has enough space and in a great design layout to carry my laptop, some clothes, and toiletries.
The last item on my list I got, and love, because I live in Colorado and Colorado is a dry climate place. Cigars need humidity and using a fridge made for cigars solved that problem. I had been having fits trying to keep the humidity at the 70% level. I looked at wood humidors, but many of those cost as much as the fridge version, so I gave this one a try and I have enjoyed very much.
There are other brands and you are welcome to go with one of those instead, but the Whynter is a very good choice as well.
