The things I do
Technology Consultant
I am an experienced technology professional with 20 years’ experience. My skill set is diverse with cross platform solutions and technologies. That ranges from Microsoft Active Directory, Exchange, SharePoint, Windows operating systems, systems and application, performance and security monitoring.
I am known for being able to come into an organization and pull together the complexity and abstract of everything, and give them a reasonable path forward within the flow of business operations. I understand that there is in most cases a set of situations that have caused there to be issues that need a solution. The solution may not always be pretty, but there I have always have added value and made a difference, and left every company better off than when I first came in.
I am good at giving an honest and fair picture of what is going on and what that all means.
And, as a right-left brained person I am good at communicating with the local administrators up to the C class folks (understand and know who you are speaking to and present the message accordingly).
My current passion is security and understanding how systems work and how best to protect the enterprise. I am applying my long history working with infrastructure, system, and applications engineer towards enterprise security.
And I love putting together solutions and tool sets.
Writer and Blogger.
I do not claim to be a good writer, in that, I struggle with the rules of writing and English (though I can use to and too correctly). I rather write to try and make positive impacts into other people lives. I believe that I have good perspective on life and the things in it. In the past, more than I few people have remarked that I have a refreshing point of view and how much that has helped them. So, I decided to just write what was on my mind and share that with you out in the wild. And for me if each thing I write helps or makes a difference for just one person, I am happy with the results.
Online Business and Marketing
One of the other things that I do is online business in the forms of information content and affiliate marketing. I love figuring out what we all need to do what we love, and showing you products and applications that will help you with that.
And I am very much a gear nerd-geek. I will talk about pens, computers, app, laptops, bass guitars, banjos, wine, bourbon, cooking, systems, cell phone, travel, reward points, credit cards, and more. Which fits nicely with the online business stuff.
If there is one thing we all seem to understanding is buying, even if we do not like being sold to. Yet I am doing that. But I hope that you will see that I just enjoy writing about products that I think are cool and will meet a need. To that end I try and put things into a fun format and tell stories so that you see that I am trying to help (and make a few bucks to).
Executive Technology Resource
Since 2007 technology has become increasingly complex and complicated, and the pace of this increases daily – even hourly!
This situation is challenging even for IT professionals; even more so for the executive team. The executive team members are being asked make choices on technical solutions and products in a timely manner to meet budget cycles and deployments.
It is not always the case that the IT team will give objective and plain information. It is not always clear what the right choice is?
You may wish that you could ask questions to an independent source. Talk to someone who will give you unbiased and objective points of view. A source that can view explain the pros and cons of a proposal in formats you can use to make a choice.
This what I am offering as a service, an independent information source.

I can take all the abstract and gray information and get to the heart of problem.
And I can format the information into the line of business: an organization cannot stop while IT moves your company to the cloud, business must still happen. I can help show how you can deploy a solution and still operate.
