Why some technical people pass on sources of Experience
There is a behavior that is too often true in technology people, they over trust their own ability to jump into situations where their personal expertise is less than what is needed. They over trust their own abilities to figure out the problem. It is true that often we have the ability to figure things out, but equally true is sometimes not knowing what you don’t know.
In these times where we don’t know what we don’t know we fall back on past experiences where we did.
In those times we will heat, that makes sense to me, with agreements all around, only to be collectively wrong.
The first step is to admit none of use knows everything. Then second, accept that we are making a try but could be wrong. And last, if there is someone with key experiences, listen to those people more than trusting your limited experience.

And you likely have noticed us tech people can have big egos.
