Is your circle creative?

Habits and routines are a normal part of the human condition. We live life day to day and things tend to fall into patterns. These things are comfortable and even safe.

But nothing original ever comes from this (but by chance). New solutions just do not happen following standard patterns. The habits and routines make normal days easier, but that lacks the necessary elements to create solutions that are original.

It is the goal of some individuals, organizations, and businesses, to have comfortable zones (even turning into a culture), and that works for situations where the outcome of your why is a predictable thing. Car factories come to mind. In such a case we are not reinventing the wheel (pun intended LOL). We are producing to max profit and lower cost, while inducing people to buy. And in such cases habits and routines are not a negative; per say.

However, nothing new or different comes out of habit and routines.

To creative new and different things, to solve problems, and even see a new need, a different set of skills are needed. Skills and abilities that can conflict with the organizational culture and individual values and preferences. It takes a willfulness to include the people and thinking that are creative and forward thinking. It needs the framework to let ideas stew and form and have the space and acceptance to become something.

For people to see possibilities, and to act on it, the behavior has to be accepted and encouraged.

It is a willful act to have a creative circle, be that personal or part of an organization.
