These days life is fast and times are few when it is quiet. Things come at us at a pace so quick, we cannot adjust before the next dozen things pile on top. Most people feel they have no time to think about what just happen. Just getting the needed things in work and life done in a week leaves us burnt out by Friday night.
For many people, they cannot take the time to discover is information online, in print, or TV, is a spin, false, or misleading. Most people just want to get everything done.
And when pushed, it is just easier to use talking points or default perspectives of your tribe.
But it does matter that we start to try take part in understanding the information that is crossing our eye-balls. We must start to challenge our go-to beliefs and just question things. You do not have to wave a flag, come out of a belief closet, or hold a press conference. Why? Because it is for your own benefit to know if you are being fooled or schooled; no one else.
So the next time you see a post on social media and you want to let it be an easy way out, reaffirms a core belief, ask yourself if it is a good thing or not; who benefits from it?
And again, that does not solve the problems of the world, just ask why questions to yourself.
